This is another obvious choice for Winged Car Wednesday. The fourth generation Toyota Supra could be had with a big, looping rear wing, that quickly became synonymous with the car.
In fact, that wing became the golden standard all other wings over the next decade would be measured against. During the early days of the import tuner craze, whenever someone attached a monstrosity of a rear wing to a Neon, Cavalier or Civic, some bystander would inevitably make the comment that the car had a ‘Supra Wing’ on it.
In my books, the Supra is only rivaled by the Charger Daytona/Superbird for having the most iconic wing even affixed to a road car.
