In the late ‘80s the battle between BMW and Mercedes-Benz for DTM racing supremacy was intense. The two manufacturers kept one-upping each other, attempting to gain an advantage. This led to the creation of some impressive machinery, like the 1990 Mercedes-Benz 190 E 2.5-16 Evolution II.
As the name implies, this was the second evolution of the 190 E 2.5-16 model and arguably the most iconic. The original Evolution I had a decent sized wing, but the Evolution II took things to the next level; literally. It, along with the M3 Sport Evolution epitomized this era of factory-backed touring cars.
